Autocrash: Fayemi’s convoy rescues 18

The convoy of Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State on Sunday rescued 18 accident victims along Ife-Ibadan road, a few kilometres to Ikire, Osun State. The Ado-Ekiti bound commercial bus with registration number LAGOS XY 327 FKJ, reportedly somersaulted on its way from Ibadan

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr.Yinka Oyebode, Fayemi, whose convoy was Lagos-bound, directed his convoy to stop at the scene of the crash.

The statement said the governor directed his personal doctor to administer first aid on the victims and arrange their movement to the nearest hospital with the convoy ambulance.

The statement said, “Governor Fayemi gave a cash donation to the victims to cater for their treatment and for their luggage which got destroyed in the crash.”

All the passengers were said to have been injured in the process.

No death was however recorded.
