In Olomaboro, Kogi State, Secondary School Students Threaten to Kill Corpers

                           KOGI SCHOOL 1

Secondary school students threaten to kill Corpers in Kogi

Here’s a bizarre email I got from a batch A Corp member serving in Victory Model College, Efodo – Okpo, Olamaboro L.G.A of Kogi State. The mail below and the threat written on a blackboard above
It’s no good news to hear that NYSC Corp Members are treated with discontentment in Kogi State, especially in remote local government like Olamaboro.

There have been cases of some drunk youths ganging up to launch attack on corpers at their capital project sites, accusing them of integrating strange norms into their culture
Let me go straight to what I witnessed this morning. I woke up this morning like every other boring mornings in the village where I serve, dressed up, and went to the school. On arrival, all the students were gathered at one corner looking at me and the other Corp members, some with satisfaction, while others with pity.
On getting to the class rooms, we saw some write-ups directly warning me and other three(3) batch A Corp members. The pictures attached to this email will help tell the story better (even with the wrong English).

As am writing this report, four(4) of us (batch A) and two (2) other batch C corpers are on hide out, praying God to intervene on the issue.
Batch A passing out parade (POP) comes up on the 13th of February, and the question is why would people whose lives we have impacted for close to one year decide to reward us with death threats?

Adeboye, Ashimolowo visit Aregbesola

                               Pastor Adeboye chats with Ogbeni
From left, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye; Governor State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his Deputy, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, during the Special End of the Year Prayer tagged: ‘Lets’ go a Fishing at Federal Polytechnic Ede Sport Complex, Ede, the State of Osun, on Tuesday 24-12-2013

Two prominent clergymen have visited Osun State Rauf Aregbesola, applauding his administration and pledging their support. One was Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the other Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, founder of the Kings International Christian Centre (KICC).

The governor impressed Adeboye with his amazing knowledge of the Bible when the clergyman recently paid him a visit in his office in Osogbo, the state capital. With ease uncommon among non-Christians, Aregbesola recounted many historical narratives and teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible.

The revered man of God was in Osun State to minister to the people at the Osogbo Township Stadium at the 2011 Go-A-Fishing programme of the RCCG. But in spite of their tight schedule, Adeboye and his entourage went to see the governor. Word had reached them that Aregbesola was delivering on his mandate.

Critics Of Aregbesola’s Administration Should Bury Their Heads In Shame

                             AREGBE 1

The Osun State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said critics of Governor Rauf Aregbesola should bury their heads in shame in view of the acknowledgement of the governor’s achievements by the international community.

In a statement by its state Publicity Director, Kunle Oyatomi, APC urged the governor’s critics to reflect on the series of international accolades received by the current administration, including the latest one from the All Party Parliamentary Group in Britain.

The party said: “The more the critics lampoon Aregbesola and get hack writers to publish ill-informed editorials about his programmes, the more the world praises his projects and recommends them as models to developing countries.

Anti-government protester leader shot to death in Thailand

school in Bangkok on January 26,     2014.

Bangkok, Thailand (CNN) -- An anti-government protest leader was shot to death Sunday as demonstrators blocked a voting station in Bangkok, police said. Suthin Thararin, a protest leader for the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), was killed in front of Sri Eiam Temple in the Thai capital, Police Col. Thawatkiat Jindakuansanong said.

Nine others were injured in the shooting, medical officials said. Protesters have been calling for the democratically elected Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down. They want to replace her administration with an unelected "people council," which would see through electoral and political changes.

An international team of scientists has discovered the first evidence of dinosaurs in Saudi Arabia. Dinosaur remnants are exceptionally rare in the Arabian Peninsula (enough "to fit inside a shoe box" according to Benjamin Kear, the study's lead author).

Kear and his team uncovered 72-million-year-old fossils -- the first was of a series of vertebrae from the tail of a "Brontosaurus-like" group of Sauropod dinosaurs called Titanosaurs.

Kear, who has excavated in the region before, says he was following up a lead by oil geologists who stumbled upon an accumulation of fossils of giant marine reptiles.

(CNN) -- For palaeontologists, the Middle East has long proven a bit of a blind spot. Evidence of dinosaurs has proven scarce, and what little surfaces from time to time have been traditionally difficult to itemize. That changed recently when an international team of scientists uncovered the first evidence of dinosaurs in Saudi Arabia near the coast of the Red Sea.

The findings were published last month in the scientific journal PLOS ONE.
"To say that finds (in the Arabian Peninsula) are rare is an understatement. What's been discovered, you could almost fit inside a shoebox," notes Dr. Benjamin Kear, a palaeontologist at Uppsala University in Sweden, and the study's lead author.

Two brothers die of magun after sleeping with uncles’ wives •They lied against me —Uncle

DETECTIVES of the Oyo State Police Command are battling to unravel the mystery behind the death of two brothers one after the other and an attack on their uncle accused of killing them with  a deadly anti-adultery charm, magun, laced in the bossom of  his wife and that of his brother’s.
The uncle is lying critically ill in a hospital in Ibadan after irate youths attacked him following the death of the second man.

The incident happened at Jagun community near Iyana Ofa, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, a serene settlement where people whose lifestyles are closer to nature dwell. Residents are mostly farmers while others engage in one trade or the other. The youth among them are artisans.
The serenity was, however, broken towards the end of 2013 when two blood brothers, Kunmi and Adeniyi Adetokun, died, one after the other, within three days, allegedly of a local charm used to punish adulterous men, commonly referred to as magun in Yoruba.

Amaechi carpets Jonathan at SRM rally, says “only a foolish man will vote for him”

Amaechi at Ogoni Rally - 1

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, yesterday dared the odds, by visiting the volatile Bori in Ogoniland. This comes a week after hoodlums disrupted his rally, shooting sporadically into the crowd. Scores were injured after the attack. We reported that sounds of gunshots were heard by residents as early as 3am. Sources say the action was to scare people away from the event. Speaking at the rally which eventually held under police protection in and around the area, Amaechi blamed the Police Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Mbu, for allowing militants take up arms against the people.
”The same people (militants) we chased away with the military are back to our state, fuelled by a man called Mbu and his cohorts in Abuja.

“They do not mind that your lives are important. They want to sacrifice your lives just to earn the office of presidency and the office of governorship,” Amaechi told his supporters at Saints’ Anglican Church premises.

                               Ejigbo wman brutalized
                                                          Ejigbo wman brutalized

A YEAR after they were tortured – one of them died – and their suspected attackers were strutting the streets in sheer defiance of the law; justice may come to three women assaulted in Ejigbo Central Market. The Lagos suburb gained a place in the map when about 1,000 people perished in its canals while fleeing the Ikeja bomb blast 12 years ago.

Ejigbo is 16km from Ikeja, the state capital. It is not to be confused with Ejigbo in Oyo State, 177km from Lagos. Ejigbo, Lagos, has a local council area authority, almost its own local government area, a police station, a traditional ruler, representatives in the state and national parliaments.
Yet the authorities had no interest in the incident, which was on social media since February 2013. The women were tortured; pepper and other foreign objects were stuffed into their genitals. They allegedly stole pepper from the market.

Pathetic world of flag-girls on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

After an interaction with some of them, it was gathered that, rather than engaging in demeaning jobs like prostitution, these ladies, who are graduates of different  tertiary institutions, said they applied as traffic controllers and flag girls on the expressway with the firm handling the reconstruction work..

Vanguard gathered that the girls, up to 10 in number, graduated from different tertiary institutions.

They spend up to 11 hours on the road everyday, with an hour break while they are paid per hour.
Vanguard gathered that they earn between N30,000 and N40,000 monthly.
It was an herculean task getting to talk with the ladies for two reasons. One, they will not want to lose precious work-time, and they will not want to incur the wrath of their employers by speaking to the press.

Online news portal, Saharareporters.com had first published the story on its site weekend.

The cancellation nonetheless, Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak upheld the president’s action, saying that there was no way homosexual marriages will accelerate the nation’s socio-economic progress.

'Why I said Catholics are Going to hell And the Pope is a Friend of Satan'- Rev. Chris Okotie Tells It all

Pastor Chris Okotie is not backing down from his earlier statement about Catholics going to hell..Read What He told punch below..

You recently stirred up controversy when you said Catholics would go to hell. Why did you say that?
It is because the church perverts the gospel of Jesus Christ and that perversion is located in the leadership. Even as Pope Francis recently announced. However, there are many good Christians within the Catholic Church who are not aware of the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, that has substituted Mary for Jesus, in what is known as the hyperdulia of the Virgin Mary. Salvation for them is not through Jesus alone but in accordance with what Pope Francis recently announced to the world. That, in itself, is a direct violation of the sanctity of the scriptures.
