After several political permutations, a former military governor of Lagos state, Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd), on Monday formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A terse statement issued in Abuja by Gen. Marwa’s media aide, Bello Zubairu, said “the former military governor decided to quit the PDP on personal grounds."

Robbers invade Lagos hospital, rape nurse in turns

An angry 18-year-old auxiliary nurse has accused by the owner of a private hospital of negligence after robbers raided the hospital and four of the robbers raped her in turns.

The robbers also carted away valuables belonging to patients on admission at the hospital. Lagos State Western Nigeria.
The incident happened at  private hospital in Egan, Lagos State. P.M.NEWS gathered that this year alone, robbers have raided the hospital three times.

The victim (name withheld) alleged that the owner of the hospital did not provide security for his staff and thereby subjected her to mental torture after she was raped and she lost her virginity.
She reported the incident to the police at Igando Division and the medical director was arrested and later released on bail.

President Buhari Summons All Service Chiefs

                               

President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned all the service chiefs to meet with him at the Defence House in Abuja on Tuesday as their new commander-in-chief.

Military sources say the service chiefs are likely be asked to go (retire) or they may voluntarily opt to give way to new blood following the president’s wish for them to relocate their Command and Control Centre to Maiduguri, the Maiduguri State capital and epicentre of the Boko Haram killings.

A military sources say Buhari is not happy with them:
“It is an attempt to frustrate and humiliate our chiefs before sacking them. Some of us have analysed the speech and our conclusion is (that) President Buhari did not appreciate the efforts put in place in fighting the terrorists.

Police Uncovers Secret Den Where Fake Money Is Produced

                             

The Oyo State Police Command has discovered a place in a remote village of Ibadan, where thousands of fake pounds, euros, dollars and other foreign currencies were being produced.

State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina, said that the discovery was made by the command’s ambush squad in a village called Ojoku in Badeku, Ona-Ara LGA of the state. The police described the area as fast transforming to an abode for criminals, having earlier served as a kidnappers’ den.

Punch correspondent, who visited the scene of the crime on Monday, discovered that the police had cordoned off the compound shielded by tall trees and thick bushes.

9 cars, 5 buses, many shops and houses were burnt in a fire incident that occurred in Jafojo street along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos State early this morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident started from one of the houses on the street but quickly spread to other buildings after men of the State Fire Service failed to come quickly to the scene. The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for flying economy class,urging him to bar public officials from flying first class with public funds..They also called on the new leader to rescue the masses “from the emperors called governors”.

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the first set of appointments into his administration. This came on Sunday evening as he named Mr Femi Adesina and Mal. Garba Shehu as his spokesmen. John Fashanu interrogated by police after they discover illegal gun at his house in Abuja

                      


John Fashanu has been questioned by the police after they found an unlicensed weapon in his house during a police raid. About 20 officers stormed the soccer star’s 20-room mansion in Abuja, Nigeria, with a search warrant on Saturday.

 They seized the gun as well as 5 passports before taking him to the city’s central station to be questioned.  After almost 6 hours of interrogation, he made a statement before being released from custody.
