Fear and apprehension grips residents within the metropolitan city whenever it rains as a result of heavy flood that in many occasions make the roads unmotorable.
Pointblanknews.com reports that on Friday, about twenty dead bodies were found beside a burial ground in Yankaba, as a result of flooding
Fagge, Taurani, Dawakin Tofa, Gwale, Ungogo, Kumbotso, Warawa, Wudil and Nasarawa Local Government Areas are in danger list.
According to Aliyu Bashir Nukkal, the Executive Secretary of Kano State Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Agency, the dead victim fell into the Karsaki River at Darmanawa in Tarauni Local Area of the State.
He said officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are already on ground in the state to ascertain the extent of damage, adding that at the moment, thousands of victims are displaced.
Bashir therefore appealed to residents of the state to always clear drainages in their respective homes to prevent future occurrence.
The Deputy State Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed the agency to take a snap shot of all the affected houses and assess the extent of damage caused to property.
Ganduje directed the agency to forward the report to his office for immediate assistance to the victims of the disaster.
