Hamid Abbo has been elected as the Captain of IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja for 2015.
Abbo was elected as Hon Tam Brisibe's successor at the club's annual general meeting. He is a retired director in the federal service and a 13-handicap golfer.
Abbo emerged captain after he defeated the former vice captain, Adeyinka Ajibade. He is the chairman of the disciplinary sub-committee and had also served on the membership and security sub - committees. He said he would add value to the club by ensuring greater accountability in its affairs and maintaining the golf course in conformity with international standards.
Also elected are Okey Igweh Vice-Captain; Mrs Adekunmi Usman, Lady Captain; Oyetola Atoyebi, Secretary and Tiri Davou, Treasurer. Other elected members of the committee are, Adebanjo Adeleke, House and Maintenance; Olusola Oladipo, Social and Welfare; Oladapo Mohammed, Course Officer and Igbuan Okaisabor, Competition Secretary.
Igweh, the Chairman of Bolingo Hotel and Towers, emerged the vice captain after he defeated Yilkes Barminas and Col Geoff Onyejegbu (rtd).
The former Secretary, Mazi Emmanuel Onyeama, withdrew from the contest while Usman was returned unopposed as the Lady Captain.
