Kaduna: APC Dominates State Assembly With 27 Members, PDP 7

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 27 seats in the Kaduna State House of Assembly out of the available 34 seats, leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with the remaining 7 seats.

Results of the state House of Assembly election as released and made available to newsmen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kaduna showed that only six members were re-elected to represent their constituencies.

The re-elected lawmakers include Hon. Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani Igabi West (APC) Aminu Abdullahi Shagali Sabon Gari (APC), Nasiru Abdullahi Maikano Ungwan Sanusi (APC) Bityong Yakubu Nkom Kaura (PDP) Hon. Labari Tella Shelly, Jema’a (PDP) and Kantiok Irimiya Ishaku, Zonkwa (PDP).


Newly elected members are Dr. Abdulsalam Dalhatu Igabi East (APC) John Audu Kwaturu Kachia (APC) Hassan Abdulkadir Turawa,Soba (APC) Sagir Zubairu, Maigana (APC), Aliyu Ismaila Abdullahi Giwa West (APC), Alh. Mohammed Rilwan,Giwa East (APC) Hon. Salisu Isa, Magajin Gari (APC), Yahaya Musa,Kakangi (APC), Markus Zarmai Yari Chikun (APC) and Abdulwahab Idris, Ikara (APC).

Others are Junaidu Yakubu,Kudan (APC) Kassim Iliyasu,Zaria City (APC), Ahmed Mohammed,Zaria Kewaye (APC), Dr. Isaac Auta Zankai, Kauru/Chawai (APC), Mukhtar Isa Hazo,Bassawa (APC) Bello Sani Gimi,Makarfi (APC), Muhammad Hashimu Abubakar,Kubau (APC), Yusuf Liman Dahiru, Makera, (APC) Ibrahim A. Ismail ,Tudun Wada, (APC) Idris Abubakar Abdullahi,Lere East (APC) Muhammad Kabir Ibrahim,Lere West (APC),

Nuhu Machu Goro Shadalafiya,Kagarko (APC) Hon. Aliyu Abdulrahman,Kawo (APC) and Haruna M. A. Inuwa,Doka Gabasawa (APC).

Those who emerge under the PDP includes, Bako Obadia (Jaba), Tanko Samuel Ubankato (Kajuru) and Danladi Angulu Kwasu (Zango) while that of Sanga although said to have been won by PDP but still under court order.

Meanwhile, incumbent Speaker of the house, Shehu Tahir, Majority leader, Muhammad Yunusa and the Minority leader, Muhammad Ali among other principal officers lost their bids to return to the Assembly.
