Kidnappers Of Zamfara Emir Demand N10m For His Release

Kidnappers of the Emir of Bukkuyum in Zamfara State, Alhaji Mohammed Usman, have demanded for N10 million ransom. Findings by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that the kidnapped emir was allowed to speak with family members on Saturday.

One of the wives of the emir, who spoke with newsmen, disclosed that the family members spoke with the embattled traditional ruler, adding that he was in good health.
Also, a reliable source at the emirate council also revealed that the kidnappers demanded for N10 million ransom as condition for his release.
It was also gathered that the kidnappers also set the Honda Civic they used in kidnapping the monarch ablaze.

“The burnt car was later discovered in a bush path, indicating that the monarch must have been conveyed on a motorcycle,” the source disclosed. As of the time of filing this report, security operatives were yet to locate the hideout of the kidnappers, even as they insisted that nobody would pay the demanded ransom. It will be recalled that the second class emir was kidnapped on Friday at a mosque close to the palace, where he had gone to observe Magrib prayers.
