Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo has spoken about his joy of scoring his first Premier League goal and hopes it is the beginning of great things for him and Watford.

Ighalo, who came on in the 74th minute against Everton on Saturday, gave his team the lead after leaving John Stones on his backside. His goal almost proved to be the winner, until Arouna Kone equalized for the Toffees in the 86th minute.

“I am paid to score goals and I can’t really explain how amazing it was when the ball crossed the line. I have scored my first EPL goal and I am hoping to get some more,” Ighalo told Goal.

“I already said that Watford would start the season impressively and that was exactly what we have done at Everton. We won’t be carried away by this result because we are well aware that we have only started a very long journey.”

Ighalo scored 20 times for Watford in the Championship last season and six times in six pre-season matches.
