Musa ready for skipper’s role
Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh is not happy with the team’s first choice keeper, Vincent Enyeama and he is not hiding this much. Enyeama literally threw spanner in the works of Oliseh ahead of this weekend’s game against Tanzania when he made a last minute withdrawal, which he communicated to the coach yesterday morning.
A dazed Oliseh described Enyeama’s act as “unpleasant,” adding that it has put him in a tight corner ahead of the battle of Dar es Salaam which is the first match he is prosecuting as Eagles manager.
“Enyeama’s late withdrawal has put me in a very tight situation because I must confess that the task ahead of us is a difficult one and I didn’t need this extra burden. What Enyeama has done is not very pleasant but that’s life,” Oliseh told Goal.com yesterday.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa who is likely to captain the team in the absence of Enyeama and Mikel Obi had declared that doing so won’t be a big deal as he was ready to play the role. Musa who has been in top form told Goal.com that the Eagles will secure maximum points in Dar es Salaam. “I’m not under any pressure to lead the team because I have done that against South Africa [in March 2015]and by the grace of God we’re going over there for the three points,” Musa said.
The Eagles were billed to fly out to Dar es Salaam today for the game in which they need a win to keep up with Group G leaders, Egypt who play away to Chad in Ndjamena.
