An Episcopal congregation in Queens was in for a big surprise recently when their priest Rev. Juan Andres Quevedo-Bosch, 59, came on pulpit to give Sunday sermon and announced that he is gay. The shocked congregation was further informed that he is divorcing his wife and marrying a younger man.

The pregnant woman who was allegedly attacked by three policemen lost her baby. Sun News reports below:

Chika is the eight-month pregnant woman who was allegedly brutalized by three policemen attached to the Satellite Police Division in Lagos on Sunday, July 19. Zenith Bank

Zenith bank which is regarded as one of the most stable and reliable banks in Nigeria as of today pays its entry level staff about N110,000 (One hundred and ten thousand) monthly, which comes to about N1,320,000 (One million, three hundred and twenty thousand Naira) per annum. This is reasonably good enough for young graduates who know what they are doing. Suffice to say that this payment subsists only for the probation period of about a year, after which the salary increases.

A 41-day-old baby, Zainab Olajide, has died after she was allegedly poisoned by her father, Kazeem Olajide, in a desperate attempt to divorce his wife. The incident happened at about 7am on Friday in the Lemode area of Ogun State. According to Punch,the mother, Abosede Ogundare, had left Zainab with Kazeem to sweep the compound only to come back and met the baby with foams gushing out from her mouth.

It was learnt that Ogundare alerted neighbours to the incident having found a bottle containing pesticide with her husband. Zainab was said to have been rushed to a hospital in the community, where she eventually died.

As the wife of Nigeria's Senate president and former Kwara state First Lady, Mrs Toyin Saraki, answered EFCC's invitation, she was escorted to the anti-graft agency's office by five senators and 20 House of Reps members, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Ali Ahmad.

The senators included Dino Maleye, Peter Nwaobosi, Abdul Abubakar, Binta Mashin and Isa Misau. They all arrived EFCC headquarters at 12.30 pm where Mrs Saraki was grilled by EFCC officials over alleged fraud charges for almost six hours before she was finally released to go home. She's expected back there today by 10am.

Last weekend, Dr. Reuben Abati, the former Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, wrote an article, entitled, “The phones no longer ring”. And I’m not about to join the fray but, that is one of the things that make us who we are as Nigerians; we insult and abuse one another even before we know why we do what we do.

In very clear terms, the article alluded to the loneliness and desertion that come on the wings of being out of public office. For a minute or two, I want us to leave the person of Abati out of this discourse and look at the article objectively; of course, I’m mindful of the fact that where emotions are involved, people cannot be objective. So, let’s leave emotion out of this and look at things more critically and dispassionately.

Sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has revealed that Toyin Saraki, the wife to Senate President Bukola Saraki, arrived at EFCC “totally unprepared” for questions the asked her.

Senator Saraki and his wife have been the subject of intense pressure over documents which reveal they have been stealing and laundering money from Kwara State and various financial institutions for decades. These documents also reveal that Mrs. Saraki has played a significant role in assisting to launder these funds.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday urged Nigerians who have been accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of being too slow to allow the President at least 100 days of honeymoon. He said change, which was at the centre of the party’s campaign ahead of the presidential election, would not be achieved with a magic wand.

Tinubu spoke with State House correspondents shortly after meeting behind closed-doors with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. “May 29 was when this President was sworn in. It is an international norm; there is a honeymoon period, at least, a minimum of 100 days’ honeymoon. And won’t you allow honeymoon at all? You said change is not coming. Change is not by magic. It is driven by the people, the spirit and the character and the planning,” he said.

America has Revealed the Names of Big Oil Thieves to Buhari

The United States has handed over the names of Nigerian oil thieves to President Muhammadu Buhari, one of the President’s entourage during last week’s visit to America made the revelations.

Buhari was taken aback when he saw the names on the list and that the list given to the President by the US might compel him to start probing the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“I can tell you that the President already has the list of names of the people engaging in the stealing of Nigeria’s oil. The list, when released by the President, will shock Nigerians. But let’s wait and see first.”

In an interview with Vanguard, former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a cunning man and that former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu was very clever not to have fallen for Obasanjo's actions. Alamieyeseigha said this while responding to a question on whether the recent defections of PDP members to APC will affect the party in the state's governorship election which will hold on December 5th.

A middle-aged man, identified as Chucks from Imo State, has died after consuming 20 sachets of gin in a N500 bet with a woman. The deceased, said to be a barber, is married with a child and lived along Ngwa Road area of Aba, Abia State.An eyewitness said the deceased had on the fateful day, gone to a nearby local shop situated within the area to take a sachet of his usual brand of gin and boosted to the shop owner that he could finish 20 sachets of the drink.

Popular Prophet Commits Suicide Inside Kirikiri Prison (Photo)

Remember the prophet, Destiny Onwudinjo, of Heaven Divine Ministry, in Shasha, Lagos who was sentenced to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine for running away from court to evade trial? well he has committed suicide inside Kirikiri

According to his co-inmates and neighbours, Onwudinjo died recently in prison custody due to frustration. PM News reports that he was so dejected about his conviction and jail term that he decided to terminate his life inside the prison.

He reportedly hit his head several times on the prison wall and his head broke. He later fell down and bled profusely.
