A pastor in New Zealand, Logan Robertson, launched an attack on two gay Christians, telling them that he prays they commit suicide.
A gay author, Jim Marjoram, wrote an email to around 400 churches about his book but got a harsh and queer reply from pastor Logan Robertson who told him “we are not interested in your filthy lifestyle or book. I pray that you will commit suicide, you filthy child molesting fag.”
When another gay man, Matt McLean, a ONE News Reporter tried to get the pastor’s side of the story, he was met with another harsh reply by pastor Logan Robertson.
Matt McLean said he phoned Pastor Logan Robertson on Monday, December 8 over comments the Westcity Bible Baptist Church pastor made in an email to a gay Christian man who has just published a book about his faith.
Pastor Logan told Mr McLean he would not give an interview to a "filthy faggot" and he hoped that he too would commit suicide.
He later granted an interview to another media platform and expressed his hatred for homosexuals. "I think every single one of them should be put to death. Christians shouldn't be doing it," Pastor Logan said.
The National Leader of Baptist Churches of New Zealand has however sent a statement disassociating the church from the statement of Pastor Logan.
"I am appalled by the comments... we cannot and never would endorse his comments," part of the statement read.
Mr Marjoram himself says he doesn't feel any anger or hate towards the Pastor but advised him to always preach love.
