Uganda's president to sign anti-gay bill

                                 

                               

Kampala, Uganda (CNN) -- Uganda's president Saturday vowed to sign sweeping anti-gay legislation, citing what he said were scientific, not political, considerations for a controversial measure in a country that already criminalizes homosexuality.

In a statement, President Yoweri Museveni declared debate on the legislation over and said he was not concerned about the expected international outcry. His remarks, made during a conference of the ruling National Resistance Movement, drew loud applause from supporters.

"We shall have a war with the homosexual lobby in the world, but backed by these people (scientists) and you," he told supporters.

Sinai attacks: Deadly bombing hits Egypt tour bus

                              

                              

A bomb attack on a tourist bus in the Sinai peninsula has killed at least three South Korean tourists and an Egyptian driver, officials have said. A number of South Koreans were also hurt in the attack, which came as the bus was preparing to cross into Israel.

Security sources said the bus was hit by a car bomb or roadside bomb. No-one has admitted carrying out the attack. The Sinai peninsula has become increasingly lawless since President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in 2011.

Officials in Sinai said the bomb blast had killed at least three South Korean tourists and the bus driver.
At least 13 other South Koreans were wounded, and were being treated in hospitals on either side of the border.

SHOCKING: 8 year old Girl Dies In Bayelsa Hospital Because Of Power Outage

                             

This is so shocking!!! According to the reports, a girl, aged 8, died at the Bayelsa owned Diette Koki Memorial Hospital for women and children due to alleged power outage.

It has been learnt that the child, identified as Inato Sunday, was until her death a primary two pupil.
The family members claimed the death was caused by the unavailability of the technical staff of the hospital in charge of the power generating set.

Inato was reportedly rushed to the hospital by the parents on Monday due to stomach ache complaint but that her situation got worse on admission and died in the early hours of Tuesday at about 2am.

A Federal High Court in Abuja Friday discharged and acquitted former speaker of the House of Representatives,  Dimeji Bankole of any complicity in a 16-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his alleged involvement in contract inflation and fraudulent embezzlement of public funds totalling N874 million.

The trial judge, Justice Evoh Stephen Chukwu, held that based on the testimonies of the six witnesses called by the prosecution, no wrong doing could be imputed into the processes leading to the award of the said contracts to justify his being called to enter his defence in the trial.

We're Yet to Invite Oduah, Says EFCC

                        

Indication has emerged that even though the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) claimed to have been investigating the former minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, over the purchase of two armoured cars at N255 million, the Commission has however, never invited her.

This is in addition to the disclosure by the EFCC that out of the 533 cases it charged to court in 2013, it got 117 convictions losing 416.

TRAGIC: Plane‬ Crashes In Algeria, Kills 103 People

                   

A military transport plane carrying relatives of members of the armed forces crashed in eastern Algeria on Tuesday, killing 103 people, the private Ennahar TV station reported, citing “informed sources”.

The plane crashed in a mountainous area in the Oum El Bouaghi province, about 500 km (300 miles) from the capital Algiers, the report said.

A senior military official told the official APS news agency that 99 passengers and four crew members had been on board the plane, but that the death toll was “yet to be determined”.

Two members of the National Youth Service Corps in Oyo have been arrested for allegedly performing homosexual acts on a student. O’tega Daniel, 27, and Sulaimon Abari, 26, were said to have forcefully indulged in sexual acts with a minor.

A father has allegedly beaten his four-year old son to death, padlocking his mouth to prevent him from shouting while the beating lasted.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at 7, Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran area of Lagos.
It was gathered that the man, Mr. Chris Elvis, who claims to sell computer accessories, allegedly locked his son, Godrich in the room, padlocked his mouth and beat him to death with an object that inflicted deep cuts all over his body, claiming that the boy was an Ogbanje (evil child that dies and reincarnates repeatedly).
