DSS Director demotes Marilyn Ogar & others promoted by GEJ govt

                               

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, the newly appointed DG of the Department of State Security, DSS, Lawal Musa Daura, has demoted Marilyn Ogar, the agency’s former spokesperson, via a memo. Read report below...

Apart from demoting Ms. Ogar, the acting DSS director general also directed the demotion of numerous other officers of the agency who were just promoted in March in what was seen as a politically motivated exercise.

A baby has been left completely blind after a surgeon reportedly removed the wrong eye. One-year-old Fernando Jonathan Valdez Ayala had a potentially life-threatening tumour in his left eye and could not see out of it. He was receiving chemotherapy but his surgeon Armando Cisneros Espinoza decided it was not working and the eye would have to be removed.But he removed the baby's fully functional right eye instead leaving him blind.

Rita Fashek, the former wife of musician Majek Fashek, who is currently battling with drug and alcohol addiction says she divorced him three months ago and has remarried after waiting for years for him to come out of his state. Rita shared her story in an interview with Punch 

"I have remarried and I am moving on with my life. Jebose (Majek Fashek), when things don’t go right, what do you do? I am tired of waiting for Majek. I have been living for years, alone, lonely and with my children, waiting for him to come home. I waited all these years; his brothers never cared. No member of his family reached out to me. I am not getting any younger. I decided to move on. Majek abandoned the children and me for so long, too long. I am no longer Majek’s wife.

According to many twitter users, a police corporal this afternoon at Lekki toll gate beat up a driver for scratching his car. According to the eye witnesses the scratch was so little and the way and manner the driver was beaten by the officer was uncalled for. He even broke his head, one of them said in a tweet. The driver was later given a first aid treatment by some of those who witnessed it, while a soldier who was also at the scene had to appeal to the police officer who was in mufti to temper justice with mercy. President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday sacked the Director General of the Department of State Service, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong. Director of Communications in the Office of Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Haruna Imrana, announced the appointment of Lawal Musa Daura as acting DG.

Also, President Buhari is set to sack the service chiefs. Presidency sources told Punch that all the service chiefs would be relieved of their appointments before the end of July.
