Help find my missing father, 6-year-old boy cries out

                                  

LAGOS—Six-year-old Michael Daniel, has called on the government to help find his father, Abel Daniel, 41, who has reportedly gone missing. According to reports, Abel was last seen while driving his Nissan Prado, SUV, with number plate EY118SMK.

According to his younger brother, Etim Daniel, “Abel Daniel is my elder brother.   We live together at No. 3, Owoyemi Street, Sango, Ogun State. We are three living together, myself, himself and his only son. He got the son out of wedlock when he was in school.  

Gunmen kill ex-security aide to Patience Jonathan

                     

A Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, who was Principal Security Officer to former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has been shot dead by unknown assailants.
Igbomie’s corpse was found in his Honda Accord car last Friday along the Airport Road, Abuja.

The former PSO, who was married with two children, was believed to have been killed by assassins who shot him at point-blank range in his car and left the engine running.
A source said the body of the DSP was found early in the morning with all his phones, wallet and other personal effects intact in the car.

Twin suicide bombers kill two in Borno

                           

Twin suicide bombers, yesterday, suspected to be targeting a market in Molai village on the outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno State capital,  detonated their explosives at the main gate of the Missionary Leprosy and General Hospital, Molai, killing two passersby.

The incident took place at about 3pm when the new market was at its peak. Molai village is south and about 10km drive to Maiduguri along the closed down Maiduguri-Damboa- Biu Road.

Buhari Orders Arrest of His Wife’s Younger Brother over Fraud

                               


President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigeria’s security agents to arrest his brother-in-law for allegedly extorting money from an unnamed businessman, a close confidante of the Nigerian leader told SR. He said the suspect, named Musa Yola, was the immediate younger brother of Buhari’s wife.

The source disclosed that Musa Yola, also addressed as “Alhaji Yola,” reportedly received N300m from a businessman after promising to provide his dupe with political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.

Earlier in May, an Islamic cleric, Abdul Inyass of Tijjaniya sect was arrested alongside 11 others for denigrating the Prophet of Islam.

With nowhere else to go in the morning, Awam dresses up, heads for his burnt shop and stares hard at the remains, a painful reminder of a once simple life. In his daily state of reverie, Awam hopes for some miracle that would turn back the hands of time and undo the events of the past three and a half weeks, which took his source of livelihood from him.

Only a few undiscerning  Nigerians and foreigners would have been surprised  by the dissolution,yesterday,of the board of the    Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

For as long as anyone can remember,the organization has  been stumbling from one corruption scandal  to the other,the latest  being the 2013 allegation by the immediate past Governor of the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) and now the Emir of Kano,Alhaji Muhammadu Lamido Sasusi ,that the NNPC failed to remit  up to $20 billion to the federation account.

NUJ To Shut Down AIT, ThisDay, Others Over Unpaid Salaries

                   

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has lent its support for the ongoing industrial action, embarked upon by the workers of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and ThisDay Newspapers over the non-payment of salaries in the last eight months.

The union, in a press statement issued in Abuja by its National Secretary, Shuaib Usman Leman, said apart from throwing its weight behind the staff of AIT and ThisDay, it will take further action which includes but not limited to the closure of the offices of the media outfits nationwide.

A Lady Led The One Hour Ikorodu Robbery, Robbers Made Away With Over N80m

                               

More details have emerged about the Ebute Ikorodu robbery which took place yesterday. According to sources, the robbery started around 9am in the morning and did not end until an hour after, 10:00am. Some set of young men stormed the Zenith Bank of Ebute Ikorodu led by a young lady and asked that the bank door be opened, obviously, the bank’s security guards who heard gunshots as the robbers announced themselves had already fled and when they got to the entrance they screamed at the people inside to open the door but no one answered.

Police nab 18-year-old man for defiling 8-year-old boy

                              

Bauchi—The Bauchi State police command on Tuesday paraded an 18-year-old man for having unlawful carnal knowledge of an 8-year-old boy. The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said at the parade of the suspect in Bauchi:  “On Saturday, June 20, 2015, at about 4pm, police detectives attached to Dass Division arrested one Mustapha Abdullahi, Male, 18, of Wandi District, Dass LGA, Bauchi State.
