Oyakhilomes divorce splits Christ Embassy members

Looks like members of Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy church are divided over his split from his wife Anita who filed for divorce a few months ago on the grounds of 'unreasonable behaviour' and 'adultery'. On a Facebook page called 'Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome,’ some members are putting their pastors and church on blast...

Yesterday, one member wrote
"I am a Christ Embassy member. I hate one thing there: How can a pastor be working together with a lady hand in hand, attending meetings and lodging in a hotel for days. My girlfriend travels with our branch pastor annually for PPCF which holds in Lagos. Only God knows.” Continue...

Another one wrote;
"Pastor Chris Oyakhilome must have been discovered compromising his marital bed business. It is what it is. God says judgement will start from His house. ‘Touch not my anointed’ is God’s instruction regarding all His children, not an individual nicking, scheming, threatening monies off people’s purses and telling them that salvation is tied to tithes and that seed sowing is only money donation to the church/pastor’s coffers. One down, more to roll. Christ be praised.”
Another member of the page wrote
" I and my family left Christ Embassy for our own good after worshiping there for three years plus and seeing all the things going on under the disguise of church. And I can comfortably say that for over a year now, we have had so much peace in our Christian lives. I don’t care how you view my comment but truth must be told.”

The pedigree of its leadership, outlined by an Iraqi expert and U.S. intelligence officials who have seen documents seized from Islamic State by the Iraqi military, helps explain its battlefield successes: Its leaders augmented traditional military skill with terrorist techniques refined though years of fighting U.S. troops, while also having deep local knowledge and contacts.

Islamic State is in effect a hybrid of terrorists and an army.

“These are the academies that these men graduated from to become what they are today,” said the expert, an Iraqi researcher named Hisham Alhashimi.

BEIRUT — The Islamic State group killed more than 150 troops captured in recent fighting for a string of military bases in northeastern Syria, shooting some and slashing others with knives in the past 24 hours in the latest mass killing attributed to the extremists, activists said Thursday.

The killing of government troops, combined with photos of dusty, terrified conscripts under militant guard in the desert, underscored how the extremist group uses violence — and images of violence — to instil fear in its opponents as it seeks to expand the proto-state it has carved out in Syria and neighbouring Iraq.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the militants rounded up the soldiers in the arid countryside on Wednesday near the Tabqa airfield, three days after seizing the base in heavy fighting. The government troops were among a large group of soldiers from the base who were stuck behind the front lines after the airfield fell to the jihadi fighters.

  Meet dead and Alive

A 54-year-old man, Valdelucio Goncalves was on Sunday miraculously found alive in a morgue after doctors had declared him dead.
Sources say the Brazilian man who was being treated for stomach cancer was found wriggling in a zipped-up body bag after doctors declared he died of ‘respiratory and multiple organ failure’.
Two hours after his ‘death’, Mr Goncalves’ brother, Walterio, was allowed into the morgue to dress his body ready for his funeral later in the day.
But as he approached the body bag, it began moving.

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has made his stand known against members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected to rival party.

Everybody will be remembered when they write the history of politics in Afemai land.”
“We must use every opportunity to educate our people. This afternoon, your Royal Highnesses, I am not asking you to go and carry party cards. I only ask you and your chiefs to educate our people to distinguish politicians, who will stand only when it is good for their family, not when it is good for the larger community.

Abiodun Ajayi, a resident of the area who spoke to Daily Sun said it was a woman who raised the alarm about two weeks that she saw a monkey, coming out of a nearby bush around her house in the estate and ever since, they have been looking for the monkey.
He said: “Last Sunday, I invited officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) when I saw the monkey on a tree. But before it could be shot, it dived into a compound and vanished. It comes and goes anytime and anyhow.”

“What’s in a name?” That famous question came from the mouth of Shakespeare’s Juliet Capulet while under her rhapsodic infatuation with Romeo Montague. What Juliet means is that she doesn’t care about Romeo’s last name — nor the feud between Capulet and Montague. The name is meaningless. Love is all.

But as adults, we know that there is much in a name. Name is identity in some cases. A person’s name is his or her calling card to the world. Our names speak of honour: We speak of “the family name” (or once did) in such a sense. James Foley’s killers demanded $132.5-million ransom for reporter’s life

Christie Blatchford: Accused serial killer offers nakedly self serving version of his ‘involvement’ in women’s deaths This Mr. Legebokoff did, albeit in his improbably chill manner, acknowledging that he was present and even assisting, a sort of butcher’s aide-de-camp, when Ms. Stuchenko, Ms. Maas and Ms. Montgomery were killed, but blaming the actual murders on various characters he identified only as X, Y and Z.

“There are three people, other people, involved in these charges,” he said. “I’m going to name them X, Y and Z.” He told Mr. Heller that “for what I’ve done, I know I can get a significant amount of jail time,” including in a federal prison, “and I will not go to federal penitentiary as a rat on three murder charges.”

Those who “give up names to cops are not treated with any respect in prison,” Mr. Legebokoff said, and so he wouldn’t be identifying the men. “That’s not in the cards,” he said.

Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski, papal nuncio for the Dominican Republic, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Wesolowski has been convicted by a church tribunal of sex abuse and has been defrocked, the first such sentence handed down against a top papal representative, the Vatican said Friday, June 27, 2014.

The Vatican’s former ambassador to the Dominican Republic, who has been accused of paying underage boys there to engage in sexual acts, has lost his diplomatic immunity and could ultimately face prosecution in criminal courts outside of the Vatican, a spokesman for the Roman Catholic Church announced on Monday.

The former ambassador, Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski, has already been defrocked by the Vatican, the harshest penalty under the church’s canon law short of excommunication. Beyond that, the Vatican has also said that it intends to try Wesolowski on criminal charges – the first time it will hold a criminal trial for sexual abuse.

That story is not strange today. If you ask children in primary school or even secondary school whom would they like to be like in future, they would mention Davido, Whizkid, Omawumi, Don Jazzy, Genevieve Nnaji or Ali Baba.

‘I will return to my seat’ – Impeached Governor Nyako Says

Forty days after being removed from office, Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd) has expressed hope that he will return to his post since his traducers did not follow the laid down procedure in ousting him.
Nyako in a statement made available to Vanguard in Abuja yesterday, by his media adviser, Mr. Sajoh Ahmed, said he was confident that the court would return him to office since the process leading to his forceful and undemocratic sack was illegal.Nyako, who has already filed an appeal at the Appeal Court against his impeachment, said there were justifiable reasons to prove that he was unjustly sent packing from his office by his opponents, who breached all the rules all in their desperate bid to get him out.
The former governor said he was optimistic the Nigerian judiciary, which is blessed with men of integrity and honour, would not find it difficult to restore him to his position given the gamut of evidence that his opponents violated all the provisions of the law in edging him out for political reasons.
He said he was confident that since the judiciary had in the past upturned the removal of governors Joshua Dariye of Plateau, Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo and Peter Obi of Anambra, it would not be difficult for him to be restored since he was forced out of office by desperate elements.

Obasanjo Cries Out: the Economy Today is Worse than Abacha

The economy is so bad today. The only ones living large are those stealing government money with impunity:

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday drew similarities between the present state of the economy and the way it was during the regime of General Sani Abacha, saying the current situation has wiped out the middle class.

Obasanjo said a distress message he received from a Nigerian requesting financial assistance clearly indicated that the middle-class has been destroyed. The former president, who was addressing a group of traders who visited him in Abeokuta on Sunday, read out the distress message sent to him by SMS.
“I told him (sender of the message) we experienced this at the time of Abacha, the middle class was completely destroyed”, Obasanjo said.
