HOLY CRIME: Deeper Life pastor sentenced to 6yrs for Real Estate fraud (PICTURED)

                       

A pastor with Deeper life Bible Church and a former Brooklyn-based civil attorney Ifeanyichukwu Eric Abakporo, was yesterday May 28th sentenced to 6 years imprisonment by a US Federal High Court for defrauding banks, mortgage lenders, property owners, and property buyers in America.

CAR mosque in Bangui destroyed following church attack

                               

                               

A group of Christian youths in the Central African Republic have sacked a mosque and barricaded streets with burning tyres in the capital, Bangui.

It comes a day after Seleka militias attacked a church in Bangui with guns and grenades, killing several people. The mostly Muslim Seleka rebels have been involved in heavy fighting with mainly Christian fighters in the anti-balaka militia since March 2013.

India gang rapes: Outrage over police 'discrimination'

                             

There is outrage over police inaction in a village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh where two teenage girls were gang raped and hanged from a tree. The father of one victim said he was ridiculed by policemen when he sought help in finding his missing daughter.

He said when the policemen found out he was from a lower caste, they "refused to look for my girl".
At least three men, including one policeman, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The victims' families have complained that police had refused to help find the missing girls, aged 14 and 16.
India has numerous castes and divisions among them run deep. Violence is often used by upper castes to assert power and instil fear in lower castes.

Police said two men had been arrested for the gang rape and murder of the two girls, who were cousins from a low caste.

Boko Haram Has Invaded Lagos And Is Now Planning Attacks (LOOK)

                              

                          


Lagos Pastor popularly referred to as Jehovah Sharp-Sharp raised alarm over the allegedly upcoming attacks on Lagos State. Speaking with journalists at weekend the General Overseer of Resurrection Praise Ministries International, Archbishop Samson Benjamin Mustapha said Boko Haram insurgents had invaded Lagos and now undergoing training to attack several targets, including Corporate Headquarters of Thisday Newspaper in Apapa over the alleged anti-Prophet Mohammed publication.

The pastor was quoted saying by The Paradigm:
“There is a Mosque, where they are presently planning the attacks. This information is confirmed and I have already alerted security operatives about it.”

A pregnant woman in Pakistan has been stoned to death by members of her family because she married a man of her choice. Farzana Parveen was killed by a mob of men, including her father, brothers and her former fiance, in front of a high court in broad daylight.

The victim, who was 3 months pregnant, was killed in front of a crowd in what was described as an “honour” killing. Farzana’s crime had been marrying Mohammad Iqbal against the wish of her family. Her father had then accused Iqbal of kidnapping and it was this case the victim was appearing for when she was killed.

Her family members tried to grab her and when she resisted she was stoned with bricks from a nearby construction site. All the culprits escaped except the victim’s father.

Sudanese Woman Facing Death For Apostasy Gives Birth In Prison

                               
The Sudanese Christian woman, Meriam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag, who was sentenced to death by hanging on May 15th for committing Apostasy, (renouncing ones faith or religion), has given birth to a baby girl in prison. Her husband, Daniel Wani made this known today when he spoke with AFP.

Iranian actress Leila Hatami is facing calls that she should be publicly flogged after she was photographed kissing the president of the Cannes Film Festival on the cheek earlier this week.

Arrested Immigration Officer Confesses To Being Boko Haram Member, reveals names of others

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officer Ahmed Grema Mohammed has confessed to being a Boko Haram member and disclosed names of security people who took part in the attacks in the North.
Mohammed was arrested in 2012 on suspicion of cooperating with the terrorists.
Year and a half later the information proved true. According to Today, the statment by the Joint Task Force spokesman, Lt. Col Sagir Musa, says that Mohammed confessed to being involved in the killings of those politicians and security agents who spoke against the insurgents' activities in Damaturu, so as in the attack on police headquarters and Damaturu prison, and several others.
The statement further reads:

9 Army Generals, Others Under Probe for Allegedly Supplying Arms to Boko Haram - Report

                                  

                                

Nine serving Generals in the Nigerian Army and other senior military officers are now under investigation for their alleged role in the sale of arms to members of the Boko Haram sect.
They are also fingered in the movement of weapons and Army armouries in some northern states.
A top security chief confirmed to Nigerian Pilot yesterday that the military authorities had made progress in the investigation of the affected Army officers, adding that they would soon be court-martialed.
He said the delay in their arraignment before a military court was because of the concentration of activities on how to rescue the abducted schoolgirls from Chibok, Borno State by Boko Haram sect.
According to the source, some detained Boko Haram suspects allegedly named the Generals and other military officers as supplying them arms.

Breaking: Another Bomb Blast Rocks Jos

                             

There was no information regarding casualty figures as at press time. Audu Yohana, the NEMA Zonal Information Officer in Jos  said the bomb had exploded on Murtala Mohammed near the main campus of University of Jos . He said  emergency responders were afraid to approach the scene of the latest explosion for fear that another bomb might be planted nearby. Four days ago, two major bombs exploded 30 minutes apart, killing over 200 people at the city’s crowded Terminus market.

Chinese tycoon Liu Han sentenced to death for murder

                                

Liu Han, a Chinese tycoon believed to have links to China's former security chief Zhou Yongkang, has been sentenced to death. A Hubei court has found Liu Han and his brother Liu Wei guilty of "organising and leading mafia-style crime and murder", reports Xinhua. The two men were among a group of 36 people charged with similar crimes.

Liu Han's sentencing is believed to be part of a wider corruption crackdown linked to Zhou's network.

The court verdict stated that, among other things, Liu Han and his group had "in an organised fashion obtained financial gains via illegal activities".

Congo warlord sentenced to 12 years - ICC gives Congo warlord Germain Katanga 12-year jail term

                                    

                                 
The International Criminal Court has sentenced ex-Congolese militia leader Germain Katanga to 12 years in prison for aiding and abetting war crimes. Katanga was found guilty in March, only the second person to be convicted by the Netherlands-based court.

He was behind the 2003 massacre of hundreds of villagers in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The fighting escalated into an inter-ethnic conflict that is estimated to have killed 50,000 people.

Thailand's military has announced it is taking control of the government and has suspended the constitution.
In a TV statement, army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha vowed to restore order and enact political reforms.

The cabinet has been told to report to the military, TV broadcasting is suspended and political gatherings are banned. A nationwide curfew will operate from 22:00 to 05:00 local time.

The coup follows months of political turmoil in Thailand.

According to a report by Channels TV, the Nigerian army has announced the recruitment of volunteer soldiers that will serve in the search for the missing Chibok girls as well as help in the fight against Boko Haram insurgence. In a press briefing today, the Director of Public Affairs said the recruitment exercise will end on June 21st and is open to only able bodied persons.

An elderly woman escaped lynching on Wednesday after being accused of being a bird and witch in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

According to residents of Ojo Road, where the purported transformation took place, the woman was a black bird before suddenly turning into a human being.

Hundreds of residents were said to have gathered around the woman to lynch her.

An eyewitness, Chike, said he was sitting in front of a compound with his girlfriend when they saw three black birds flying.

Death Row Inmate, Rev King Is In Prison But See What's Happening In His Church

                               

                            

Seven years after the General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Lagos, Rev Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, aka Reverend King, was convicted for murder and attempted murder, Folashade Adebayo attended a service in the church to see how things are going.

Last Sunday was another anniversary celebration of the Christian Praying Assembly, Isolo, Lagos. But as at 9am when Punch correspondent got there, the imposing three black gates of the church were still shut. If not for a number of cars parked opposite the church and a middle-aged man who stood by one of the imposing gates, praying earnestly, one would have concluded that the church, founded by the convicted Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, also known as Rev. King, was on a recess.
